Terris Talks
New Brighton (6TH) VS
Burnside (3rd) It’s a case of what could have been for this team; a month ago we were a chance at top 4, to be today playing to stay in 6th is just frustrating. To be in the middle of a park seeing 9 players and knowing there is no more ,this after trying to get your workmates to play is a coaches nightmare and sadly an end to this coaches desire to continue. The brave 9 who would not default gave their all and to be 1-1 at half time did show their love for the game and maybe the wish for better support from all concerned with this team. As the 2nd half began with now 10 players (former player who was under the influence) but all with their strength spent after a brave effort in the first half and Burnside just using the extra players. WE GOT DONE! So we went down for the 4th week in a row End of the league for us but a few players have grown and been as disappointed as I have been. Tim Shaw Keeper His best year between the sticks Chris Penney (Cap), R/Back Puts his body on the line every game Benji Morgan C/Back Saved many goals this year Stephen Schulz Mid/ D never gives less then everything. Aaron Schulz Mid /D the senior statesmen off the defense Andrew Murray Mid Strong, Soild and a real team man Stu Irving Mid Unusual style but works well Blair Croucher Late arrival but a valued team player Ali Haidari A young but improving player Aaron Myers (AJ) Top goal scorer and strong on our failing midfield. Janette Terris Manager (the brains behind the team) Bill Todd Asst Coach So we finished a disappointing 7th one higher than last season this after we lost only one game first round. Maybe if we play the game on a TV with a controller with a bar we may have had more success. Thanks Steve, Paul and all those who have given us support. Awards night should be easy as I only have a few players to pick from... |
